Tanzania’s Gen Z activist Deusdedith Soka, stalked by regime operatives in the wake of a new wave of nationwide abductions and extrajudicial killings.

10 August 2024 — When the news broke on Clubhouse late last night, that Gen Z activist Deusdedith Soka had posted on X that Samia Suluhu Hassan regime security operatives were stalking him, I quickly went to X to immediately Repost his alerts.

Soka has been arrested by the regime on several occasions before, read my article Cash-Strapped Tanzania Dictatorship Turns On Activists in New Spate of Arbitrary Arrests.

In a recent press conference, Soka announced nationwide demonstrations set to kick off on August 26, and this has had the regime jittery, with random announcements from some ruling party politicians condemning the planned demonstrations.

I want the world to know that all isn’t well in Tanzania.

What we have is something that looks like a government, and tries to pass itself off as one on the international stage. Still, the truth of the matter is it is just a criminal cartel masquerading as a legitimate government.

I can assure you–and this is well documented–that Tanzanians did not elect this government. They put themselves in power by the barrel of a gun, hidden behind the veil of sham so-called “democratic” elections in 2019–2020, the bloodiest and most brutal yet.

And now the regime is throwing everything they’ve got to rig the 2024–2025 elections to ensure they stay in power. But the people have had enough, and we’re holding the government directly responsible for all the hardship, extrajudicial killings, abductions, and grand-scale corruption that is bleeding the nation’s resources.

And so we’re keeping an eye on our young fighters and shall alert the world on the Tanzanian government’s every move against its people.

If the recent alleged deployment of Tanzanian police to Kenya to beat, tear gas, and arrest Kenya’s Gen Z protestors is anything to go by, we have our work cut out for us.

This criminal cartel that calls itself a government, is real.
