The Oppressed People of Tanzania Cry for Freedom

This is a BREAKING story, so I’m going to be very brief.

A man named Onesmo, who hails from Tanganyika district in Tanzania, several weeks ago appealed to Ambassador Dr Willbrod Slaa for help, and traveled to Dar es salaam to meet him. He very recently went on to reveal on Clubhouse the oppression against residents in his district, including land grabbing, perpetrated by the Tanzanian government.

Today, ordered by the District Commissioner (and revealed on Clubhouse this evening), the police have landed in Tanganyika district and are hunting down Onesmo and his fellow villagers, who have escaped into the bush to evade arrest. This is the latest in a string of human rights violations in Tanzania and we’re keeping a close eye on developments, especially in the lead up to the November 9th, 2023 demonstrations scheduled to take off in Mbeya, Tanzania.
