What poignant image of the natural disaster in #Tanzania

December 4th, 2023 — The puzzling thing about this breaking story is that whilst the Tanzanian government is saying nothing about the volcanic history in the Hanang disaster area, witnesses have come forward sighting lava flowing down from the hills since this natural disaster broke out over 48 hours ago.

Tanzanian police dressed for battle with guns and bullet proof vests on a floods rescue mission

Yesterday, and this is so hilarious, Tanzanian police arrived at the scene with guns, teargas canisters and bullet proof vests. Honestly, how inept is THAT? The Tanzanian government’s lack of preparedness for such events, in stark contrast to their preparedness to quell demonstrations, beggars belief.

And to add insult to injury, there’s not a lot going on by way of this so-called rescue operation, it looks more like a photo opportunity scramble by Tanzanian leaders flocking to the disaster area with nothing to offer the people whom they claim elected them to office. (Well, they hijacked the elections. They were never elected by anybody, everybody is aware of that. So they can play “pretend” elected leaders all they want, but we know the TRUTH).
