President Samia Sticks Middle Finger Up Tanzanians in Sham Ceremony

Reuters article Tanzania signs deals with DP World to operate Dar es Salaam port berths covers the story, but I’m going to be unequivocally candid in this piece because as a member of Sauti Ya Watanzania, the relentless Clubhouse pressure group, this for me is personal.

Tanzania’s president Samia Suluhu Hassan has tried her damnedest to deceive both her people AND the international community that SHE is a reformist, and now she’s just had the audacity to stick the middle finger up the people she’s meant to be leading, by not heeding their call to scrap the dodgy Intergovernmental Agreement between Tanzania and notorious Dubai based logistics predator DP World.

And so in this utterly farcical ceremony attended by all and sundry on Sunday, October 22, 2023, her government signed a Host Government Agreement (HGA) and lease and operation agreements with DP World to operate berths four to seven at the Dar es salaam port and announced they’re looking for other investors to operate berths eight to 11. Which is deliberate misinformation, the IGA, under which the HGA falls, clearly stipulates there will be no such thing as OTHER investors without the express approval of DP World (read the leaked IGA here).

Despite the agreement sparking opposition from the public including the Catholic church, lawyers, activists, and opposition politicians who said the terms favored DP World and offered little benefit to Tanzania, President Samia Suluhu Hassan said her administration had considered all views during the negotiations with DP World (another LIE, she’s completely IGNORED us).

And so this highly controversial marriage in sin, between Samia and her cabal of criminals, and DP World whom the world knows what they’ve been up to in so many ports around Africa, continues to blossom unabated. I have to say, I am seething with VENOM.

And to add insult to injury, president Samia goes and appoints Paul Makonda as her new CCM ideology and publicity secretary aka Chief Propagandist for the ruling party. Makonda is Dar es salaam’s former Regional Commissioner who was sanctioned by the United States and is ineligible to enter the U.S. for his involvement in gross violations of human rights.

Let me tell you something, according to Tundu Lissu himself whilst speaking to Tanzanians in the USA yesterday, he revealed that he was informed by reliable sources that Paul Makonda was actually present when Tundu Lissu was shot. He was behind the assassination attempt. He is a murderer! Does Samia Suluhu Hassan, who embraces all the bad guys in her government, come across like a reformist? I didn’t think so.
