#FreeDeusdedithSoka: Tanzania’s Gen Z Activist Abducted by Samia’s Thugs

19 August 2024 — Tanzania’s dynamic Gen Z activist Deusdedith Soka was abducted along with fellow local Chadema leader Jacob Mlay on Sunday afternoon, August 18, on his way back from Sunday mass. During the day on Monday, a couple more young people are reported to have been added to the list of abductees bundled up with Soka.
According to eyewitnesses, Deusdedith was stopped by police on his way home from church, he called Mlay to assist him and they were both taken. The police later denied having them in their custody and began circulating fake SMS messages that claimed Soka had decided to elope to safety in a neighboring country. This seems like a preamble to something unthinkable.
The police are using an old SIM card they’d confiscated from Deusdedith in a January 2024 abduction. Soka — and other young activists who had announced nationwide protests planned for August 26, has now been abducted five times.
A harrowing article by Down To Earth bears the headline Maasai situation in Tanzania reminiscent of ‘Bantustans’ and ‘Pass Laws’ in Apartheid South Africa, claims activist as community blocks key highway.
Behind the ongoing rampant abductions across the nation is the Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan, one of the most toxic and corrupt leaders in Africa, hellbent on holding on to power with the barrel of a gun, against the will of the people.
She’s got it in for the Gen Zs in fear of a similar reprisal to that of Kenya being triggered. And she’s sold all of Maasailand to foreign investors, mainly the Dubai Royal family, and wants the Maasai off the land at any cost. The president just recently authorized mining in the Ngorongoro conservation area, she’s that greedy.

The Maasai community in Ngorongoro stepped out in their thousands to protest on Sunday, August 18, with social media images streaming across the globe to say enough is enough, they want social services restored and the forced evictions to stop.
In my recent article How President Samia’s 4Rs Hot Air Ballon Spectacularly Plummets to Earth, I gloat over her BIG LIE going up in smoke, for once, from here on out I doubt the international community, whom she habitually sponges off, will buy any of her lies.
We appeal to the international community to stop funding the Tanzania dictatorship, steeped in corruption and human rights violations.
